Blogger Summer Picks - Crop Tops

This is the lovely Kirsti and heres her summer pick:Kirsti - Silent Sweetheart

Which item of clothing do you think is key for this summer and why?
One item of clothing which I think is key this summer is the crop top. They are absolutely everywhere in high-street stores right now in all colours and patterns and are selling so fast! I have bought a couple myself and they are just a fun item of clothing to wear. You can pretty much wear them with anything whether it be high-waisted shorts or a skirt or even a pair of low rise jeans, it all depends on what you feel comfortable in. You can also layer a crop top by wearing a top or blouse underneath or a blazer or jacket on top.
How would you style this piece?
For me, I would always wear this item with something high-waisted, like a pair of shorts or a skirt, as I am not too keen on my belly being on show, but that is just a personal preference. When I wore my crop top the other day I wore it with my high-waist denim shorts, a think belt and my sandals, however I have also worn it with my grey maxi skirt. I just think they are so versatile, a must have for this summer!

Be brave like Kirsti this summer and try out a crop!

Blogger Summer Picks - Army

The lovely Lydia also answered a few questions about her key summer piece:

In warmer weather
Floral Crown - Dolly Bow Bow, Sunglasses - Primark, Necklace - DIY, Dress - H&M, Sandals - Dorothy Perkins

 In cooler weather
Sunglasses - Primark, Necklace - DIY, Top - Primark, Disco Pants - American Apparel, Creepers - Ebay

Which item of clothing do you think is key for this summer and why?
My key item for summer is definitely an army jacket/shirt. The one I’m wearing is from a charity shop, so they can be found for really cheap! I think this is the perfect way to make girly dresses look a little more edgy. They are also great for keeping warm on cooler days. After all, the British summers can be a bit chilly!
“How would you style this piece?
I’ll be wearing this jacket chucked over cutesy dresses & shorts. It makes a fab cover up if you don’t want to flash too much flesh!

Take a look at what army pieces that are available online:

I'd also check out your local charity/vintage shops for some kakhi/army style items!

Blogger Summer Picks - Denim Shorts

Before I left for China I asked a few of you lovely bloggers to answer a couple of questions about key summer pieces. Here is the first instalment:

Heather - Studs and Lace

Click to find more looks from Heather

Which item of clothing do you think is key for this summer and why?
I really love distressed denim shorts especially high waisted ones and they are a key piece in my summer wardrobe. I think they look so casual and summery and go with everything but are also easy to dress up for a night out. I wear denim shorts a lot in the summer styled in different ways.

How would you style this item?
I would style denim shorts with a plain tee and a fringed kimono and maybe add a fedora. I am a big lover of the bohemian look. I would go for silver rings, plenty of bracelets, and a dreamcatcher necklace with sandals or heeled gladiators. Another idea would be to go for a cream lace or crochet top and a tasselled bag with cowboy boots for a western look which would also be perfect for a festival with a flower hair garland! There are a lot of customised denim shorts around at the moment and I'm definitely going to have a go myself this summer, maybe adding studs or fabric to my many pairs of shorts!

Take a leaf out of Heathers book and take a look at the denim available instore and online!

River Island Wishlist

I feel that River Island have really upped their game within the many high street stores we have, I remember they had a small phase of being quite expensive but looking at alot pieces in store at the moment they are really affordable. They have some amazing prints in too!

Out of everything here there are 2 key pieces I would love for the summer:

Sheer Maxi Dress

I would really love some sort of sheer/see through maxi so wear over a number of outfits. I love sheer fabric in the summer and I've wanted a piece like this for a while now to throw over a plain pair of shorts and a cute tee. Though I do feel that this is probably something I could make myself as they seem to be quite expensive from what I have found so far.

Baseball Cap

I've wanted one for a few weeks now, I love the old style baseball caps and this aztec print one is perfect for a more modern twist on this type of hat! They are perfect for the sunny weather, or to simply cover up a bad hair day! I hope to wear it with something a little more dressed up than casual, with slightly backcombed/curly hair to poke out beneath this beauty!

What do you guys think of these lovelies?

Village Green

Jacket - Miss Selfridge, Crop Top - Motel, Riding Pants - American Apparel, Flatforms - H&M

I managed to get my third, yes third pair of American Apparel riding pants last month during the 40% off winter sale! I absolutely love the colour, and actually spotted another colour but 4 may be a little excessive, possibly? haa

I also have two of my favourite accessories, this bag was a gift from my sister for my 20th birthday, I love it! The green stone ring is special to me as I purchased it from an antique market in Venice when Zee took me for my birthday. I tried the ring on and fell in love but it was quite abit of money so I left it, but then couldn't stop thinking about it and ended up going back!

Hope you guys had a fabulous weekend!

I Moustache You a Question.

Jacket - Miss Selfrdige, T-shirt - Goodie Two Sleeves, Shorts - eBay + DIY, Boots - Dr Martens

I'm quite the fan of moustaches, and I have a ridiculous sense of humour so when I saw this tee from Goodie Two Sleeves a couple years back it made me giggle. You can get Goodie Two Sleeves from their website here, of you can check out the pulp website for some UK Moustache goodness here.

I love Goodie Two Sleeves, I have 3 tee's now and I totally need this bad boy:

This tee makes me giggle way more that is probably necessary!

A night out

Geo Body - ASOS, Shorts - American Apparel, Cape - Topshop (old)
I promised before that I would post some outfits of what I wear out, this is what I wore out the other week to celebrate finishing exams! The geo body is Motel and I purchased it in the 24 hour sale on ASOS, it fits wonderfully. I would recommend a Motel body as the bottom sits quite low down on the top of your thigh reducing that awful VPL! The cape is one I purchased a couple of years back and just haven't gotten round to wearing it as I've been so worried I'd spill something on it! I braved it for a night out and it was fine so you may be seeing more of this bad boy :)

Lilac Skater Dress

Skater Dress - Pop Couture

Hello you beauties
By this time I will be in China! I'm so excited but it also means that I will not be able to access blogger. I have scheduled a number of posts last week to post throughout the next month, which does mean I will not be replying to your comments until the July! So thankyou for visiting and I will reply and visit your blogs when I am back!

This dress was sent to me from Pop couture a little while back, you may remember it from the 'how to style a skater dress' post. I love the colour, to say I'm not a massive fan of the pastel trend this summer, lilac is a rather beautiful colour! Pop Couture Competition

Hoody - Borrowed, Bandeau - Republic, Shorts - eBay + DIY,  Boots - Dr Martens

Sunglasses - ASOS

Hello you beauties,
These photos were taken lastnight, and this is my attempt at festival fashion. This is basically the kind of thing I wore at Leeds Festival the last few years so I didn't really need to think about it all that much. A small top, cut off to get a tan, boots to avoid the mud, a hoody to warm up in the evening and possibly a hat to hide the greasy unwashed hair -yum. Out of all of these the denim cut offs are my favourite piece of festival style. Pop Couture have a competition running on their Facebook page at the moment which means you could win 25% off!

Click the image below:

It's worth entering as you could get 25% off some of these goodies:

Tassle Vest

Glasses - ASOS, Dress - H&M, Tassle Vest - c/o Oasap

How adorable is this little vest from Oasap - find it here! It's perfect to add abit of detail to a simple sundress, I'm looking forward to styling it in China too. I've been looking for a piece like this for a while, I love the detail on the back. Talking of Oasap I have my eye on this harness style vest, its amazing! As for my dress its one of several patterns that is available at the moment for around £7.99 - such a bargain I'd check them out if you haven't already.

Sadly it is no longer this sunny! These photos were taken last week during our mini heatwave. Fingers crossed for some more lovely weather!

Jacket - Miss Selfridge, Head Chain - Little Teacup, Dress - Goddiva
Hello lovelies,
This is a gorgeous dress from Goddiva, I adore most things with a daisy print so I fell in love with this dress. The skater shape is perfect for summer, but sadly this awful English weather returned before I had chance to take a lovely outdoors photos! So expect to see this piece rather alot, I think will be perfect with an oversized knit.

Goddiva is a website I came across recently on Twitter, I have my eye on this Scarf Print Playsuit, and this Tropical Print Bralet. There are lots of wonderful dresses on the website, but if you click the 'more' option to the right hand side there are leggings, bralets etc.

You can use the code 'thanku10' at the check out to get 10% off your order!
So check out Goddiva here!
