Nottingham Street Style - May

Another installment for you lovelies, sadly there are less images than I had hoped for but deadlines and exams came first. Enjoy!

I love this outfit, a gorgeous velvet skirt with a girls blouse toughened up slightly with the denim.

An oversized t-shirt dress, buckled boots and a bowler hat, perfect.

How amazing is this shirt!! I had to snap a photo of this fabulous girl.
This is actually my gorgeous mum. I had to take her photo, looking fabulous on her birthday!

Do you have a favourite?

p.s) Sorry boys, only managed to snap one of you stylish lovelies!

Yin Yang

Vest + Flatforms - H&M, Leggings - Magenta

Sunglasses - ASOS

This is an outfit I wore the other day but with my exams I'm slightly behind on outfit posts! I had to wear these leggings (which I posted about here) almost straight away, I absolutely love them. And these sunglasses are amazing! I've lived in them this week and they are only £12 from ASOS - you can find them here. I'd like to say sorry for the stream of outfits posts against this wall, I have no time right now to find some more interesting backgrounds for you!
And for those of you that didn't see my post earlier today, ASOS have up to 60% off Motel today, its worth checking out lovelies!

Finally as a little celebration of this fabulous heatwave, I'm offering free shipping on all orders at my Jewellery shop (Little Teacup Jewellery) using the discount code 'FREESHIPPING' valid until midday tomorrow.

Beautiful Midi

Crop Top - Old + DIY, Skirt - Oasap, Platforms - eBay

Glasses - ASOS, Necklace - Little Teacup
I am absolutely in love with my Oasap skirt, it is so light and floaty! I did have to toughen it up slightly with some black and 90's platforms though. It is available in black and grey - check it out here. I'm looking forward to styling it again, maybe more layering next time :)

My crop top is an old work t-shirt which I just cut up a little, its the easiest DIY ever. Just take some scissors to some of your old clothes to get some on trend crop tops, which can be layered up again next winter! I have a few that I need to hem with my sewing machine after exams, which I will share with you very soon!

Also I'm selling a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Boots which I was given as a gift a while ago last year which are sadly too small for me! If you are a UK 7 and want some 90's style boots with a hidden platform check out my listing here.

Glass Boutique - British Style

Toni from Glass boutique contacted me recently to see if I wanted to take part in a British Style campaign so of course I said yes. I hadn't come across Glass Boutique before but they have some amazing pieces, they stock items from a number of designers! Some of my favourite pieces are these Leopard Print Boots, Won Hundred Day Shoes, and this Landscape Dress. Glass Boutique have been kind enough to give you lovely ladies 15% off which is valid from 24th - 26th May, use discount code "CJL15" so check out the website to take advantage of the discount!

I was asked to take a photo inspired by British style, so I decided to get out my Union Jack bandeau from Republic, my 90's jeans and my black brogues. The shirt I'm wearing is from eBay for £7.99 and you can find the seller here.

New Purchases

Bandeau - Primark (£6)

Leggings - Magenta (£5 each)

Dress - Primark (£5 Sale)
Hello you beauties,
I thought I would share some goodies I purchased yesterday whilst procrastinating in the sun! The dress was abit of an impulse buy but for £5 I couldn't resist, there are more dresses in the sale for £5 at the moment so check out Primark for a cheap dress! The bandeau I spotted on the lovely Hannah and had to look for it, check out how she styles it here.

My leggings were from one of those cheap shops you get in most cities, where everything is £5 or £10, so have a sneaky wandering next time you pass one in your town. The Yin Yang leggings are a bargain, a fraction of the price of the Topshop version. And for those of you that would prefer to purchase online they are available on eBay + more styles:

ASOS Goodies

Hello you beauties.
There are some fabulous pieces popping up all over the internet, with some of my favourites coming from ASOS. I have taken a few items that would be intially difficult to wear, but actually they are very versatile!

The Unitard

1.    2.    3.    4.

This is something I felt I would not get enough wear out of initially but thanks to the lovely Meg, I now know that these are much more wearable than you would think. They could be worn alone, dressed up with heels and a sheer shirt, or dressed more casual with a baggy tee. See Meg's Post here for inspiration on how to wear a unitard!

The Knicker Short

1.    2.    3.    4.

Hot Pants or Knicker shorts seemed to be quite popular on the cat walk and we are now seeing the trend leak through into the highstreet stores and of course ASOS are on top of the trend. For those of us that are not stick thin with legs up to our underarms, these seem a little intimidating to say the least! They are however a very wearable pieces.

Try wearing them with an over sized tee or shirt that will cover the possible flash of bum but tucked in at the front (you don't want to hide them!), add some flats, opaque tights and an oversized cardigan or jacket. I think layering is key to this trend to allow us girlies to wear these bad boys throughout the day. For night though these are a simple yet striking way to look fabulous with little effort, add some massive heels and your legs will look a mile high!

The Bralet/Crop

1.    2.   3.    4.

These crops make us all want to immediately whip out our waterboard midriffs for all to see....if only. Again baring alot of flesh can be a little scary but the bralet can be paired cleverly to reveal only a little flesh.
You can pair them with something high waisted, a midi or asymmetrical skirt is perfect for keeping the flesh to a minimum, a blouse or shirt could be worn open on top so only a head on view of the midrif is visible. Wear underneath a super sheer shirt for mor coverage or even wear on top of a t-shirt for daywear! Or if you have a pair off Disco Pants or Riding Pants from American Apparel, then you have a to die for combination!

Happy Summer Shopping!

From Day to Night

Hello you beauties,
Today I have a different outfit post for you guys, the first outfit is what I wore through the day whilst revising and then the second outfit is how I changed quickly into an outfit for a night out. A quick change was needed to get optimum revision time in before a night out. That's not a sentence that I ever want to say again!

Jacket - Miss Selfridge, Cardigan - Vintage Warehouse, Tee - Goodie Two Sleeves,
- H&M, Boots - Dr Martens

Ohh split ends how you need cutting...

Bralet - New Look, Wolf Necklace - Little Teacup, Skirt + Boots - eBay

Sadly its still very nippy so a cardigan was necessary for the night time.
Bring on summer, English weather is utterly depressing at the moment!

Thankyou all for your lovely comments on my last post, I'm very happy to have reached 500 followers :) Hopefully I can get a little giveaway sorted before I leave for China but if not you will just have an extra good one when I get back if I find any goodies from China!

Hope everyones work for exams and deadlines is going okay

Hello you wonderful beauties.
I'm in a particularly good mood today as I finished my first exam this morning and I believe it went quite well! Due to my hard work, I thought I would treat my self to a goody from the New Lines added to the Miss Selfridge sale (trying to justify spending my holiday fund!!)

Leopard Bralet £10, Glitter Bralet £10

I'm a sucker for a bralet so I got both! They have some gorgeous pieces in the sale at the moment. Now I have some spare time to catch up on your blogs!

A dash of Floral

Jacket - Miss Selfridge, Dress - Primark, Flatforms - ASOS
Head Piece - Little Teacup
For all you cat lovers out there this is my baby, Albus.

How're you wonderful people?
I'm still revising currently, I cannot wait to get this over with! I have however in my spare time been having a wander in town to snap some of you Nottingham girlies for the May street style feature!
Also you may have noticed that I live in this jacket! I purchased it a few years back from Miss Selfridge and they actually have an almost identical version in at the moment which you can find here. I would recommend it, mines lasted 3 years or more now!
These asos flatforms appear to have sold out online now but they have some amazing pairs in at the moment, here are a few of my favourites:

Running With Believers

Jacket - Miss Selfridge, Vest - All Saints, Skirt - H&M, Wedges - eBay
Earrings - Little Teacup (£3.49)
Hand Harness - Little Teacup (£4.99)
Hello you beauties!
Its finally been slightly sunny here in Nottingham! Though according to the weather forecast it may not last. This is an outfit I wore yesterday, sadly I only revised at home all day!

I just wanted to share with you that American Apparel have 40% off their winter pieces which includes the Velvet Skater Skirt and the Riding Pants! Which is a substantial amount! You can check out the rest of the sale here, the code 'BYEBYEWINTER' is valid until 15th May so get your orders in quick. I do highly recommend the Riding Pants, I've just ordered my third pair!

On another note, I'm currently sat in Cafe Nero doing some work, and I just spilt my Chai Latte on myself....I'm clumsy and now have a stain on my dress for the rest of the day. So I apologise in advance to the people I take photos of later for the street style post, I'm just clumsy...not scruffy!

Now I'm off to carry on revising with my sad old stained dress.
